Finalists in the 16 categories of the inaugural Australian Magazine Awards (AMA) have been shortlisted with the winners to be announced this Friday 6th November. The awards, to be held at Centennial Parklands Restaurant in Sydney will be attended by all the finalists as well as media buyer/planners and industry supporters such as Roy Morgan, Audit Bureau of Circulations, Nielsen and the Media Federation of Australia. The AMA, an AdNews initiative, is open to all magazines that are Audit Bureau of Circulations audited and have a Roy Morgan readership figure. There are no entries to the awards, rather the finalists were appraised on set criteria by a team of independent judges, chaired by Steve Allen, managing director of Fusion Strategy. The judging criteria includes circulation and readership growth, advertising volume, front cover, editorial content, layout and design. The major sponsor of the event is Realview. The winners - including the blue riband prize for Magazine of the Year, will be announced in the 6th November edition of AdNews and reported in next weeks edition of Publishing Edge.
