Rumors persist about a supposed successor to the Switch, and the latest report (which supports many of the previous claims) comes from an “exclusive” report by Reuters.
According to the news agencyNvidia is currently “building a new business unit” that specializes in “designing custom chips” for hardware companies – with its “source” claiming that the tech giant has designed a “custom design” for Nintendo's next-gen handheld system.
Here's Nintendo's clip of this “exclusive,” which also mentions that the new hardware is expected to arrive this year:
“Nintendo's current Switch portable console already includes Nvidia's Tegra
Nintendo (as you may have already guessed) declined to comment on this latest report, though the links to Nvidia and the estimated launch window are again no surprise, given previous rumours. This basically confirms existing reports from multiple other outlets.
Last month, Bloomberg also reported that Nintendo's new consoles would ship in 2024, with one analyst suggesting they would feature an 8-inch LCD screen. You can catch up on all the Switch 2 rumors in our comprehensive guide here on Nintendo Life:
