Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez testified on Wednesday that Johnny Depp hit her during the couple’s infamous staircase fight in 2015.
“I’m standing there with my back to the stairs. That’s when Johnny went up the stairs,” she told jurors in the March 23 altercation over Depp’s alleged infidelity. “He came after me, and hit me in the back. I heard Amber screaming Don’t hit my sister the King. I slapped him, and I hit one.”
At that point, Deb grabbed Actress “Aquaman” Henriquez said he repeatedly punched her hair in the face. This is when his guard allegedly intervened.
Heard testified on direct examination that when she saw her sister standing at the top of the stairs and then saw Depp swinging at Heard, she went into protective mode. “I don’t hesitate. I just, in my head, think of Kate Moss and the stairs and swing at him,” she said, adding that this was the first time she “has taken a hit.”
Heard was referring to a rumor that she had heard that Depp once pushed Moss down a ladder during an argument when the couple were dating in the ’90s. But a source close to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star told Fox News Digital that’s not true, and the actor is still on good terms with the model.
Henriquez was living rent-free in penthouse apartments in one of Depp at the time, but soon left after the actor accused her of selling stories about him to the press.
Several witnesses – including Depp and Heard – gave different accounts of the ladder incident. Depp and his security guard testified that Heard instigated a physical altercation by taping Depp in the face, causing him to have black eyes.
After the bodyguard separated them, Depp allegedly attacked a room that Heard used as a locker, tore down shoes and clothes racks.
The jurors were shown photographs that Henriquez had taken of the destruction.
Depp alleged that he spoiled his reputation and his caregiver. Heard is fighting her ex-husband for $100 million to describe her abuse allegations as a “hoax.”
The trial, which will be broadcast live Thursday, continues with testimony from Eileen Barkin expected.
