A new football legend retires from the field. Former England international Jermaine Defoe (57 Caps) announced his retirement from social media on Thursday. On February 1, the 39-year-old striker returned to Sunderland, where he now plays in the English Third Division, where he played at the highest level between 2015 and 2017. Jermaine Defoe began his professional career at his training club West Ham in the early 2000s. For ten years, from 2004 to 2014 (although he went all the way to Portsmouth), he made Tottenham history by scoring 143 goals in 362 games. After a brief experience in Canada, he wore the Sunderland jersey (2015-2017) and then Bournemouth (2017-2020) before joining Scotland and the Rangers until last February.
