On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the Garden School Association held its General Meeting at the Village Hall. Since 2006, Gardenschool’s mission has been to help young people and adults learn English and discover Anglo-Saxon culture at an affordable price.
The courses are taught in a family spirit and include a variety of activities that are as fun as possible for the youngsters.
100% female office
The association’s office consists of three teachers and three students: Monique Burt, passionate about Ireland, has taught for forty years at Descartes High School, Tours and IUFM (University Institute for Teacher Training); Martin Royati, retired from National Education, has been part of the association for five years; and Englishwoman Caroline Berger. Student members of the office are Chantal Mahé, Anne-Marie Bosetti, treasurer, and Pascal Delblanc, president of the association.
Reduce membership
The Garden School is seeing a drop in membership due to the time gap. 47 members 28 youth and 19 adults, 31 Saint-Avertinois and 16 residents outside the municipality. The teachers taught eleven groups, six youth and five adults, for 14.5 hours per week, or 350 hours per year.
The Gardenschool did not disappoint, making trips to St-Averdeen’s friendly Irish town of Killarney and resuming “all in English” weekend classes.
On September 7, 2024, the Garden School will participate in Union Day. Contact: [email protected]
