The fake feud between Charles Barkley and the Golden State Warriors almost became very real after crowning Dubs’ Western Conference Game 5 Thursday night.

With TNT’s “Inside The NBA” team deployed outside the Chase Center, Warriors fans began throwing Barkley with ballistics and drinks. Barkley spent playoffs (and, in fact, several years) in the Bay Area, Warriors fans and the city of San Francisco while enjoying the hatred of locals, getting fans to chant “CHUCK YOU SUCK.”

It was all good to hate a clean athlete – unless you were Mother of a Warriors fan — but judging by the reaction of Barkley’s co-workers, things were about to cross the line on Thursday.

After at least two objects flew in the direction of Barkley, the NBA Hall of Fame cut from his seat He held his coffee cup as he faced the bustling crowd outside Chase Center. Chuck found it funny, laughing as Barkley faced the crowd, but Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith seemed to take it a little more seriously, repeatedly begging “Sit down, Chuck.”

Barkley, who went out of his way several times to say how happy he was that the finals were on ABC and not TNT, finally sat down before the network went out of business. Once the program resumed, Barclay completed the next few segments without major incident.

Steph Curry and Draymond Green later hit the set for a short interview, and the smoldering Curry thanked Barkley for coming to his sweetheart San Francisco.
