Galaxy S24's AI features require a Samsung account, Google account, and internet connection

Galaxy AI will be the primary buzzword Samsung will focus on when it launches the Galaxy S24 series later this month. The company's next major lineup will bring several hardware upgrades, but it's the software side of things that will steal the show.

The Galaxy S24 lineup will come with several AI features that will enhance various aspects of the user experience. For example, the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra will bring a powerful photo editing tool called Geneative Edit, which will allow users to move or remove objects from photos and even add new details to existing photos.

Meanwhile, the live translation feature allows you to communicate in foreign languages by providing real-time translations. The Samsung Notes app will be able to automatically convert paragraphs of text into easy-to-read bullet points, and AI will power things like Samsung's keyboard app and home screen wallpaper.

Some functions will be performed on the device without the need for an internet connection, similar to features found in Samsung's virtual assistant Bixby. But, as Samsung confirmed in the official teaser for the launch of the Galaxy S24 Unpacked, not everything will work offline.

Samsung's teaser also indicates that all Galaxy AI features will require Samsung And Google account. Galaxy devices already require you to sign in to both a Google and Samsung account for the best experience, and doing so will obviously be even more important in the Galaxy S24 lineup.

We'll have to wait for the Galaxy S24's official launch to find out which of its AI features will send and receive data over the internet and which won't. The wait won't be long, as Samsung's next flagship is set to be unveiled in just two weeks (and is expected to hit retail shelves at the end of January).
