Microsoft Raises Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Price, Launches New ‘Standard’ Tier

Microsoft is planning to raise the prices of its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service again in September, along with the launch of a new “standard” subscription that does not include access to original Xbox games on day one. Xbox has begun sending emails to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers warning them of the price increase to $19.99 per month starting September 12, up $3 from the current price of $16.99 per month.

PC Game Pass subscribers will also see a price increase in September, with the service going from $9.99 to $11.99 per month while maintaining access to day one titles. The new standard option also includes access to online multiplayer, something that wasn’t available on Xbox Game Pass for Console before. Existing Xbox Game Pass for Console subscribers will only be able to accumulate up to 13 months starting September 18, but this won’t affect existing accumulations.
