If you purchased any of the Discovery offerings from the PlayStation Store, Sony has some bad news for you to find out.
The company recently announced that all Discovery content purchased from the PlayStation Store before 2024 will be erased. Brief noticesigned by the PlayStation Store, says:
Effective December 31, 2023, due to our content licensing arrangements with content providers, you will no longer be able to watch any of your previously purchased Discovery content and the content will be removed from your video library.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support.
The PlayStation Network began selling TV shows and movies with the 2008 PlayStation 3, at which time you were allowed to transfer content to various Sony consoles. Kotaku male. This feature disappeared with the PlayStation 4. With the growth of streaming TV apps, many of which can be accessed through the PlayStation console, the PlayStation Store has become Stop selling Movies and TV shows in 2021.
But there were users who actually bought stuff from the PlayStation Store and, believe it or not, expected to be able to watch it whenever they wanted, since they paid money to buy it (instead of renting it). I admit I haven’t heard many offers being deleted after purchase. Includes shows that are excluded from user libraries Wives with knives, Idiot outside, Evil twinsAnd The body is strange. And when it comes to killer docuseries, the PlayStation Store has plenty of them, whether you’re looking for them Fatal affairs, stimulate, Dentists, devotion, Sinsor of course, slim.
I enjoy some of the more unusual titles, of course. But there are also a lot of well-known titles in the list of purchased content that have been revoked, including… American helicopter, Cake leader, Mythbusters, Shark WeekAnd We say yes to the dress.
While some of the content listed seems, shall we say, a bit niche, there are a total of 1,318 seasons of shows listed for deletion. This means that there is a good chance that many users will be affected by Sony’s announcement.
