Porsche Macan EV looks inspired by the Taycan EV. Details here

Porsche showed off its new Macan EV, which will be the second pure electric car from the German luxury automaker of the Volkswagen Group when it launches in 2024. The teaser image was shown by an official graphic released as part of the automaker’s collaboration with the Austrian shipyard. Frauscher. Interestingly, the Austrian company is working on its own 28.4-foot all-electric sports boat, which will use the same powertrain as the upcoming Porsche Macan EV.

The Porsche Macan EV will be the automaker’s second pure electric vehicle and is scheduled to be released in 2024.

Test mules of the Porsche Macan EV have already been spotted several times. However, the new teaser image shows the upcoming electric car in a completely different light than those early prototypes. It looks sleeker and is heavily influenced by the Porsche Taycan EV, the car brand’s first-ever electric vehicle. The teaser image shows the new crossover from the side and as it turns out, the rear profile looks more sophisticated than in the outgoing internal combustion engine model, which resembles the rear profiles of the Panamera and Taycan. The taillights also look similar to those on the Taycan EV. The Macan EV appears to come with a stylish red LED strip that runs across the width of the car, a visual design element on the Taycan EV and in a wide range of other recent vehicles.

The design sketch doesn’t reveal anything about the frontal profile or the interior of the upcoming Macan EV. However, expect the electric vehicle to sport sharp, sleek LED headlights and a Taycan-influenced front look. Inside the cabin, expect a wide range of features backed by advanced technology along with a feeling of spaciousness and comfort on offer.

Speaking of Porsche Macan EV specifications, this car will be powered by the new PPE architecture, which is a dedicated EV platform and uses 800V technology. This EV platform is capable of accommodating a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack. However, the car’s power and torque output along with the EV’s range remains a mystery. We expect it to generate 603 hp of peak power and 1,000 Nm of peak torque.
