The International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the sport’s governing body, updated its rankings on Friday, and Spain moved into top spot, narrowly ahead of the United States.

The four-time defending American Olympic champion moved to prominence after winning the FIBA ​​World Championship in 2010 and has been there ever since.
