Taylor Swift adds eight more concerts to the US Stadium Tour

Taylor Swift It announced Friday morning that it will add eight additional concerts to the US leg of its 2023 “Eras Tour,” in addition to 27 concerts. It was previously revealed At the beginning of the week.

In all eight cases, the new gig is additions in cities that were previously on the schedule. In some cases a one night suite becomes two nights, in others where two nights were already in the books somewhere, a third night was added.

One stadium that will now host a three-night stand is SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The host venue for this year’s Super Bowl has a third show, on Thursday, August 3, 2023, ahead of previously announced dates August 4-5.

Other cities besides Los Angeles that have been added for a third night are Philadelphia (on May 14), Foxboro, Massachusetts (May 21) and East Rutherford, NJ (May 28),

The locations that get a second night are Tampa (April 14), Nashville (May 5), Seattle (July 23), and Santa Clara (July 28).

Swift has updated the graphic containing all of her US tour dates to include the added performances. As before, it includes icons to include which two openings will appear on which dates, including new ones:

Even with these additions, Swift remains remarkably true to the pattern set out in its initial rollout, which is that it seems determined to only work on weekends on this tour, or at least the American part of it. I found her previous shows are booked on Friday and Saturday. Four of these newly announced gigs perform on Sunday, three on Friday, and only one, Los Angeles Addition, on Thursday, the only show to date that falls outside of a three-day weekend.

Tickets haven’t been sold yet for any of the shows, so if Swift is adding these shows due to demand, it’s something her camp sees from early registrations for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform, not actual sales, yet. But it also makes sense, especially after the massive early success of the new “Midnights” album, that this demand will likely outpace supply without setting multiple sale dates in most markets.

Three Nights at SoFi might seem like a lot of a show, but that’s not unprecedented for pop stars even in the short time the venue has been open. The Weeknd recently announced a third date for So Fi that will wrap up his Thanksgiving weekend tour. BTS played four nights at Los Angeles Stadium late last year, and grossed $33.3 million, a Billboard mentioned At the time it was the biggest total for a group of shows in one place since 2012. If Swift added a fourth night in any stadium on her tour – which is a big deal – and sold it all, she could beat BTS’ recent high standard.

The 2023 Tour begins March 18, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, the same city where its last tour, the Reputation Tour, took off in 2018. (So far, Glendale is still among the cities that still only have one show in Itinerary.) Los Angeles at the end of the tour in early August.

No international dates have been announced, although Swift has promised that it will be soon.
