Ron Cephas Jones, the Emmy Award-winning actor best known for his role as William Hill on NBC’s “This Is Us,” has died. He was 66 years old.
“Beloved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones has passed away at the age of 66 due to a long-term lung problem,” Rep for Jones Inc. Emphasize people on saturday.
The statement continued, “Throughout his career, anyone who has had the good fortune to know him has felt his warmth, his beauty, his generosity, his kindness and his heart.” “He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and his love of theater has been present throughout his career, including his recent Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning performance for his role in Clyde’s on Broadway.”
Jones played Randall Pearson’s (Sterling K. Brown) biological father William Hill on “This Is Us”. He has received four Emmy nominations, two of which he won as a special guest star in a drama series, in 2018 and 2020. Jones’ daughter, Jasmine, also earned her first Emmy win for Outstanding Performance in a Miniseries Comedy or Drama in 2020, making the couple the first duo Father and daughter win Emmys in the same year.
