England scored 220/2 on Friday at the end of the third and final match of the third day of the first Ashes Test in Cape Town, Brisbane. England captain Joe Root was unbeaten on 86, followed by David Malan with 80 and 58 not out. Starters Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed fought to 23/0 until lunch, but fell immediately after the break. As the battle on the pitch continued, spectators cheered to see a plan from the stage. The video of a man wearing an English jersey kneeling and proposing to a woman wearing an Australian jersey has gone viral.
The woman was drinking beer at the kappa stand and was surprised to see her partner taking the ring out of her pocket. The entire scene was recorded on camera and displayed on the stadium’s big screen with the caption “End pending”.
It took a few seconds for the woman to accept the offer and say yes to the man. Almost the entire arena erupted in joy when the successful proposal was posted.
The pair were later identified as Rob and Knot by 7 Cricket. Speaking to a show host following their proposal, Rob said they were united by cricket, so it made sense to propose him there four years after they met.

Earlier, Travis Head scored an impressive 152 as Australia were bowled out for 425 in the first innings of the first Test against England in Cape Town on Friday, taking a 278-run lead. After recovering their score from 343-7 from the night before, the home team put up. 82 more in the extended morning session.
Olly Robinson picked up 3-58 for the English attack, Mark Wood 3-85 and Chris Vokes 2-76. When Olly Robinson took two wickets in the back-to-back balls, England threatened to come back after tea, but Hed’s aggressive innings did not end his hopes for a miraculous recovery.
Head came to Greece with Australia 189-3 after Steve Smith defeated Mark Wood against goalkeeper Jose Butler shortly before tea. He saw David Warner (94) and Cameron Green go for Robinson’s accurate crimp after the break, with Australia still just 89 points ahead.
