Antony Starr, who plays Homelander in The Boys, has confirmed that he will not be voicing the character in Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1, the latest installment in the popular fighting game series, has revealed that the game will be getting downloadable content featuring some popular characters from TV and movies.

Netherealm has already released one of the DLC characters, Omni-Man, and she has been praised for her loyalty to the series’ Invincible, with his death being one of the most memorable moments in the series.

Homelander is set to be another character in the DLC, but fans were disappointed to learn that the character would not be voiced by original actor Antony Starr.

One fan commented on Instagram, asking Antony Starr if he would voice the character, and got a direct response: “no.

Fans were disappointed by the news and wondered who would replace the voice actor who has become synonymous with the laser-shooting hero.

“My disappointment is beyond measure, my day is ruined,” one fan complained.

“I don’t want to be dramatic, but this is the most devastating one-word answer in human history,” another person agreed.

However, other fans are still hopeful that Starr will still be able to appear in Mortal Kombat 1, claiming that people may have misinterpreted his one-word answer.

“People keep hounding him for answers about this, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he said no just to stop the questions.”

This sad news for fans comes right after the news that Tremor, the ninja ruling the Earth, will be released on November 16, confusing players as he arrives just one week after Omni-Man.
