Backstage news on Jade Cargill's debut as seen on WWE SmackDown

Jade Cargill is now on her way to WrestleMania, after appearing at WWE SmackDown on Friday to support Naomi and Bianca Belair. The look included a brand new entrance, which differed from her truncated entrance at the Women's Royal Rumble, as the former AEW star appeared in silhouette, surrounded by lights designed to look like the universe.

According to Fightful Select, the Cargill entrance has been in the works for some time and there may be more changes ahead of Cargill's match at WrestleMania 40. WWE has reportedly worked hard on the Cargill entrance, seeking advice on camera angles, lighting, sound and other aspects of the entrance. Cargill will team up with Belair and Naomi to take on Kairi Sane, Asuka and Dakota Kai from Damage CTRL in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Lincoln Financial Field.

The former AEW TBS Champion signed with WWE in September and, with the exception of rare appearances on WWE television, did not wrestle for the company until January, making her debut at the Women's Royal Rumble where she put on a dominant display. Cargill stayed away from television after the Rumble but was teased for an appearance before last Friday's “SmackDown” pay-per-view, where she helped support Naomi and Belair in their war with Damage CTRL. Unless Cargill is booked for any matches between now and next weekend, her WrestleMania match will be Cargill's first non-fight royal since last September when she lost to Kris Statlander in Cargill's last match in AEW. What's more, the match will be Cargill's first match since February 2023.
