Larian Studios introduced a self-conscious Dungeons & Dragons joke into the epilogues added to the game in Patch 5, and players are just discovering it.

It’s clear by now that Baldur’s Gate 3 has great respect for the source material. The Larian team took great care in making a game that accurately reflects the gameplay and tone of D&D, and that’s a big part of why the game is so successful.

And if you needed more convincing one way or another that Baldur’s Gate 3 was truly a game for D&D players, look no further than one of the lines Larian snuck into one of the new epilogues that conclude the game.

What happens in the final moments of the game depends on which epilogue you get, some of which are particularly gruesome if you’re a Dark Urge player, but one of which features a dialogue option that comes close to breaking the fourth wall.

In a post on baldur’s gate 3, One player noticed the dialogue option in the introduction, which Shadowheart requested in hopes that the party would continue the encounter.
