Bradley Beal is unlikely to face the Suns and Warriors; Devin Booker ’50-50′ – NBC Sports Bay Area and California

The Phoenix Suns could be without their two star guards when they open the 2023-24 NBA season against the Warriors.

Bradley Beal is “unlikely to play” Tuesday at Chase Center due to a back injury, while Devin Booker is “50-50” with a toe injury, The Athletic’s Sham Charania reported, citing sources.

Bell was acquired in a June trade that sent a group of draft picks, Landry Shamet and Chris Paul, to the Washington Wizards. Naturally, Paul was later traded to Golden State in a trade for Jordan Paul.

The longtime Wizards star has averaged at least 22 points per game in seven straight seasons. With Phoenix, Beal is expected to play a key role alongside Booker and Kevin Durant.

As for Booker, Charania reported that the three-time All-Star will warm up and try to play on Tuesday.

Bell and Booker each played 18 minutes in the Suns’ penultimate preseason game on October 16. They did not participate in Phoenix’s final preseason game but practiced Monday before the regular season opener. The team listed Booker (left big toe) and Bell (lower back) as questionable on the official injury report.

In addition to those two stars, the Suns’ guard depth includes Eric Gordon, Grayson Allen, Jordan Goodwin, and Sabin Lee.

Draymond Green, who has a sprained left ankle, has been ruled out for the Warriors after missing the entire preseason.

Warriors-Suns coverage begins Tuesday at 6pm PT, with “Warriors Pregame Live” on NBC Sports Bay Area. The game will be broadcast on TNT at 7 PM PT, followed by “Warriors Postgame Live” on NBC Sports Bay Area at 9:30 PM PT.
