Madonna In Hospital With Bacterial Infection, Tour Postponed – The Hollywood Reporter

Madonna is currently expected to recover from a bacterial infection that led to a stay in the hospital for several days.

Guy Oseary, the singer’s talent manager and producer, confirmed that she was admitted to the intensive care unit on June 24 due to the infection. “Her health is improving, but she remains under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram. “At this time we will need to stop all commitments, including touring.”

Oseary went on to say that more details will be available when her squad is available, “including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.” The Grammy winner announced her gala tour in January with a video featuring Amy Schumer, Lil Wayne, Kate Berlant, Jack Black, Judd Apatow, Eric Andre, Diplo, and more. She was acclaimed for her 1991 Blond Ambition World Tour documentary the truth.

The legendary artist’s tour explores her musical journey over four decades and was set to kick off in July in Vancouver and end in December in Amsterdam, spanning 35 cities across North America and Europe. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will feature Bob the Drag Queen (Caldwell Tidicue) on all dates.

In 2020, Madonna underwent hip replacement surgery nearly a year after she sustained an injury during her Madame X tour, which forced the cancellation of several shows in North America.
