Marcel-Aymard de Millau resumes exchanges with Beverley’s College English

After the Yorkshire trip, the students were able to re-establish contact with their Anglo-Saxon correspondents.

A trip full of memories. Marcel-Aymard de Millau Collège Bilingual 4th graders recently spent a week in Beverley, England, discovering some iconic places in Yorkshire and meeting their correspondents. “Previously organized by our late colleague Benedict Carey, this exchange marks a new beginning with the support and guidance of the Millau-Bridlington duo team”Indicates establishment.

Through a rich and varied program put together by Beverly High School teacher Claire Gardiner, the students got to know the local culture. They spent two full days at Beverley High School (Girls’ College) and Beverley Grammar School (Boys’ College). “In Total Immersion, they first followed an English student’s schedule and noticed the differences.”, the authors explain. Then, they had the opportunity to benefit from courses like photography or cooking that we don’t have in France.

“Exceptional” welcome

Apart from this, students are full of discoveries including York Museum, Whitby Abbey or the town of Bridlington and its limestone cliffs. There was a reception in Beverly “Exceptionally, by our correspondents and their families and the mayor himself, in his traditional attire during the farewell tea party.Cheers to college. After a week there, it’s easy to see why the city ranks in the top ten for quality of life in the UK.”

At the end of this trip, students will create a travel diary in which they will recount their daily life within their host family. An enriching adventure from a linguistic, cultural and personal perspective. Marcel Aymartin’s students are looking forward to the arrival of the British next October to help them discover our heritage and culture.
