Super Mario Bros. Wonder is getting a limited edition OLED for the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo announced that, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom before it, Super Mario Bros. Wonder on a limited edition OLED Nintendo Switch.

The limited edition console was announced during Super Mario Bros. Ultimate. Wonder Nintendo Direct in August, and it salutes the next big Switch game but doesn’t actually include Super Mario Bros. Wonder in the box.

This is because the device will launch just before the game’s date on October 6, while Super Mario Bros. Wonder herself on Oct. 20.

The hardware includes special Joy-Cons and a unique docking station, both in the (almost) regular “Mario Red” color. There is a silhouette on the back of the console, along with some coins inside.

Nintendo’s last major release, Tears of the Kingdom, also got a limited edition OLED Switch launch prior to the game. Other big games like Splatoon 3 have also received special hardware, but this will be the first Mario-themed console since Super Mario Odyssey launched in 2017.

Super Mario Bros. has been revealed. Wonder during June’s Nintendo Direct as the next 2D Mario game and people instantly fell in love with the next superpower: Elephant Mario. The game will also be the first without Charles Martinet, Mario’s long-term voice actor, as he announced his resignation earlier in August.
