Tottenham-Mavericks live updates, scores, highlights, how to watch, TV channel

The time has finally come. Victor Wembanyama, the most intriguing player in the NBA since LeBron James, will make his regular-season debut on Wednesday night when the San Antonio Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks in the 2023-24 season opener for both teams. Tip-offs are at 9:30 PM ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.

Wembanyama’s debut has been anticipated for more than a year, especially after two exhibition games in the Las Vegas area last October when Wembanyama went head-to-head with another top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Scoot Henderson. Wembanyama impressed in his matches in the French league before heading to the United States for the June draft and playing in the Las Vegas Summer League and the NBA pre-season tournament. And each time, he added another edge — often doing things we’re not used to seeing on an NBA basketball court.

All eyes will be on San Antonio and Wimpanyama this season, and it all starts on Wednesday. Follow Yahoo Sports for live updates from Wembanyama’s NBA debut, including highlights, scores and more.

Naturally, Wembanyama will score his first points on a deep ball. He also had two early rebounds and one big block in five minutes in his debut.

He then followed that up with another three in the first quarter before being forced out for two fouls.

Wembanyama had a relatively subdued first half after committing two fouls. He scored six points to go along with three rebounds, one assist and one block in 12 minutes in the first half of his debut.
