There was a last-minute change to Sunday’s lineup for the Stern Grove Festival. The originally planned title title will be replaced by Liz Phair with popular rock band Ani DiFranco.
According to the Stern Grove Festival Official Twitter handleLiz Fair had to cancel “due to Covid at her roving concert.”
DiFranco’s career spans five decades and is considered one of the most successful folk artists of her generation.
The singer-songwriter is an obvious choice for the title of Sunday’s concert, which coincides with Pride Parade in San Francisco. DiFranco appeared as a bisexual early in her career and was nicknamed “Bisexual icon.“
It is also an appropriate choice in light of the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. DiFranco is an outspoken advocate for abortion rights She wrote songs about her own experience with abortion.
