Slater Vance, the 16-year-old son of Angela Bassett, has issued an apology to Michael B. Jordan after receiving backlash for sharing a viral TikTok trend for faking a celebrity’s death.

In a since-deleted clip, Slater photos of his parents — Angela, 64, and Courtney B. Vance, 62 — reacting to the fake news that Wakanda Forever actor Michael B. Jordan was dead.

After the video was taken down, Vance shared an apology, saying, “I would sincerely like to apologize for participating in such a harmful trend.”

He continued, “I apologize to the family of Michael B.

“I wish no ill repercussions of my actions on his family or my parents because they do not deserve any backlash.”

He added, “It was a mistake and I hope this is an educational lesson for anyone else who uses social media as a tool and source of entertainment to truly understand that your actions can have consequences beyond you.”

‘Harmful Trend’: After deleting the original video, Vance shared an apology, saying, ‘I would sincerely like to apologize for participating in such a harmful trend.’

The video concluded, “I apologize for any hurt my actions may have caused Mr. Jordan, my parents, or anyone else who could have been involved in this, and I am truly, sincerely, and sincerely sorry.”

The original, now-deleted 20-second clip showed him asking, “Did you hear this: Michael B. Jordan is dead at 35?”
