The evening begins with a small “English” tea, and then the conversation becomes general as dozens of members arrive. “We talk about the books we’ve read, or the conversation turns to a specific subject. The first time, we explain why we’re there and introduce ourselves. I bring the vocabulary, but hearing English spoken stimulates the participants, the memory returns to them,” explains the facilitator.

For now, appointments are offered every Tuesday, but the host hasn’t ruled out offering other time slots.
