Rebels sharpened their weapons ahead of Charles III’s state visit to France, while the image of Emmanuel Macron dining with the English monarch at the Palace of Versailles alarmed many. But all were canceled on Friday.
Royal couple Charles III and Camilla were due to spend Sunday through Wednesday in France on their first state visit, before continuing their trip to Germany.
But according to Downing Street, French President Emmanuel Macron “asked” the British government to postpone their visit to France because of the massive, sometimes violent, protest movement against the pension reform.

The reversal of the situation pleases the president of La France, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who did not hesitate to slip the most observed joke words on social networks about this cancellation.
Referring to Stade de France’s failure to qualify for the 2022 Champions League final, “The meeting of kings at Versailles was marred by popular censure. The English know that Dorman’s protection sucks.”
However, King Charles III and his wife Camilla said they were keen to reschedule their visit “once dates are available”.
