The 87 members of the association now cover an area of ​​approximately 150 square meters. The premises have a large room on the ground floor which makes it look like a hostel and makes everyone feel at home. Upstairs, there is a room dedicated to painting. After all, the new campus is equipped with an access curve for the less mobile, which is not on the 6 rue de la Poterie.

Traditional song at the peak of activities

Vierzon Accueil may continue its activities as before: bridge, bellows, scrabble, painting on silk, traditional song, English… “The goal is to meet people without a sense of competition, emphasizes Jean Girald. Singing traditionally twice a month, on Wednesdays from 3pm to 4:45 pm, is a process that unites most people. Ann-Marie Derot performs as a choir. “We play in the Perry costume,” says Jean Girald. The second most popular activity is English. Two groups – one level B1 (threshold) and the other level B2 (advanced) – meet on Thursday afternoon. The author is Kelle Chow from Deniox. On Friday, place the crumbs and tarot. On Mondays and Thursdays, from 6pm to 8pm, members are also offered the function of the swimming pool: there is a private swimming pool in the Domidis apartment, with a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius.

Outings on the menu

Finally, Vierzon Accueil offers several trips to promote comfort. The next Rose Festival will take place on Friday 27 May in Chédigny (Indre-et-Loire). The other, with shared tourism, is scheduled for Thursday, June 16 in Orçay (Loir-et-Cher). Occasional outings also take place at the bowling alley, with the next scheduled for Tuesday, June 21st.

Formed in 1978, the Vierzon Accueil Association was originally formed for the spouses of newcomers to the city, to help them discover the city. Since then, the association has been open to the general public. “But the spirit has not changed,” says Jean Girald. It’s about welcoming people. ⁇
