The celebration opens at 4 p.m. The square, recently reconstructed by the municipality, is part of the city’s desire to provide a local public garden “less than a 5-minute walk from every citizen’s home in the city center.”
To achieve this, the City hired landscaper Céline Desmouliere. The latter composed his design around a large lawn intersected by a belted driveway. It also reopened the historic axial entrance while integrating the courtyard into the square. The city also ensures that particular care is taken with the plants. “The emphasis was on originality of species, diversity of colors, continuity of flowering, but also fruiting plants (apple, cherry, fig, plum, etc.) that could be enjoyed by the public.”
Finally, it should be noted that the premises are equipped with surveillance cameras and are subject to “regular and sporadic visits by the Metropolitan Police and Environmental Police”.
