Since the start of the school year in September, the Collège des Bourgognes at Chantilly in the Oise has opened a new British English International Section. It was officially opened on Thursday, November 24, in the presence of the Rector of the Academy, Rafael Müller, the Mayor of Chantilly, Isabelle Wojtowicz, and several representatives of National Education.
About 50 students joined
“It is a special subject where students study in English for four hours more than their regular time.Valérie Quéric, principal of the establishment, explains. They focus more on culture and linguistics. Added to this are a few hours of History-Geography in English. A total of 9.5 hours of English. The idea is that language learning has a path from elementary school to high school.»
About 50 students are enrolled in this section, 28 in sixth class and 18 in fifth class. The division works with a British company based in Epsom, which works with Chantilly.
